For an item lost in the airport, start with the official airport lost property contact. If checked baggage did not arrive, contact your airline. For an item left onboard, ask the airline which local team handles its lost property.

First, separate a lost object from a baggage problem

“Lost at Lisbon Airport” can mean several different things. A wallet left near a departure gate is not the same case as a suitcase missing from the baggage belt. Starting with the right team avoids repeating an enquiry to offices that cannot deal with it.

Write down the last point where you definitely had the item: a terminal area, shop, seat onboard, airport transfer or baggage collection. If you are unsure, describe the uncertainty honestly and identify the few most likely locations.

Official Lisbon Airport lost property contact

Lisbon Airport’s official useful contacts page currently lists its airport lost property contact as achados.dsa.lisboa@psp.pt, telephone +351 218 444 530. It lists the location as ground floor (0) and opening hours as 08:00–16:00. Check that official page again before travelling to collect anything.

The same airport page directs passengers with undelivered or damaged luggage to their airline, which contacts the relevant ground handler. Left in Lisbon is an independent paid assistance service; we are not this airport office, the PSP or an airline.

Prepare details that make your enquiry useful

Send the item description, the date, an approximate time and the last known location. For a flight-related enquiry, include the airline, flight number and travel date. If a shop, lounge or gate is relevant, name it rather than saying only “in the airport”.

  • Identify the item: model, colour, case and a distinctive feature.
  • Explain the route you took and where you noticed it was missing.
  • Give a reliable contact email and any existing lost property reference.
  • Attach an existing photograph if it helps identify the object.

Keep sensitive identifiers out of public posts. Supply proof of ownership only through the holder’s appropriate verification process. If you are contacting more than one likely holder, keep a simple note of who you contacted and their response.

If you have already left Portugal

Do not book a collection merely because you have filed a report. Wait for confirmation that the correct item is held and can be released. Then ask which office stores it, the collection deadline, whether someone can collect for you, and what authorisation is required.

Collection may be affected by airport access and the holder’s procedures. A courier cannot necessarily walk into every area, and a normal parcel collection may require the item to be packed beforehand. The named holder must agree to the proposed route.

Once the release arrangements are clear, use our international return checklist. If it is a phone, start with the account-protection steps in our lost phone guide.

When local assistance may help

You can contact official channels directly. If you prefer someone to make agreed calls and follow up locally, our €30 search service covers defined contact work over 3 business days. It does not guarantee recovery, release or delivery, and is not refunded solely for an unsuccessful outcome after the work is performed, subject to statutory rights.

Already have confirmation and a reference? Ask for a collection and shipping quote. We first assess the holder’s requirements and the item’s eligibility for transport. We cannot guarantee access to restricted areas or bypass release checks.

Common questions

Is Left in Lisbon the official airport lost and found?

No. It is an independent assistance service. The official contact is linked above, and you can contact it directly.

Can you track a checked bag that did not arrive?

Contact the airline’s baggage service using its reporting procedure. This is a different process from asking about a personal item left in a terminal.
